For convenience of viewing, the dots cover 3 square kilometres - smaller and they become indistinguishable, larger and very local observations are conflated. This mapping is chosen simply to allow differentiation of some of the closely packed SW London sites - not all are discernible even at this scale. Whatever the faults, the map demonstrates that early records are largely coastal (Sussex, Kent, Essex, Suffolk) or concentrated in south-east.
